Winter Games

Winter Games

In February of 1993 Quesnel was host to the BC Winter Games. More than two thousand athletes from around the province came to Quesnel to compete and showcase their skills. Quesnel residents rallied to make the event successful. Many people volunteered, spectated and even opened their homes to provide out-of-town athletes with accommodations and meals.

Local artist Aud Fischer created this diorama with wildlife indigenous to the Quesnel area participating in the sports of the winter games. She carefully matched characteristics of the species with those of the sport. She donated over 600 hours to sculpt and assemble the exhibit.
